Kerala Bank rolls out laptop loan for students

Kerala Bank has come up with a collateral-free loan scheme for students to buy digital study materials like laptop at lower interest rates. The loan named as "KB Gen Z Tech Loan" will be given to students aged between 18 and 28 years from Rs.25,000 to Rs one lakh and could be availed for buying laptop, i-pad and tablets. The interest rate will be 6.99 per cent and the tenure will be 30 months. The bank will not levy any processing fee for "KB Gen Z Tech Loan". The loan will be disbursed with father of the applicant as co-applicant and under the guarantee furnished by the mother (of the applicant). In the absence of mother and father, close relatives can stand as guarantees.
The Bank President, Sri.P.Mohanan Master inaugurated the loan scheme at a function at Credit Processing Unit of the Bank at Kakkanad in Ernakulam district. Kerala Bank stands as the foremost bank in fulfilling the responsibilities towards the State. This loan scheme was launched as apart of this social commitment, he added.
Bank vice president, Sri.T.V.Rajesh handed over the sanction letter of the first loan disbursed on the occasion. Bank Director, Sri.M.Balaji, Board of Management member, Adv. V.K.Prasad, Chief Executive Officer, Sri.Jorty M.Chacko, Executive Director, Sri.Roy Abraham, Chief General Manager, Sri.A.Anilkumar, General Managers, Dr.N.Anilkumar and Sri.Sajith K.S attended.
